Nortech’s 5th Annual FOCUS Symposium Showcases Results
MINNEAPOLIS – Feb. 8, 2012 – Nortech Systems’ personnel from across the company met yesterday at the company’s fifth annual FOCUS symposium, to recognize progress in improving efficiency, reducing costs and enhancing satisfaction for employees and customers. Nortech Systems provides comprehensive electronic contract manufacturing services that add value throughout all stages of a product’s life cycle.
Nearly 50 people attended the symposium, held at the Crowne Plaza Minneapolis West, which featured group presentations and storyboards about Nortech Systems’ lean manufacturing initiative, called FOCUS. Presentations illustrated Nortech’s commitment to its Continuous Improvement Process (CIP) in all facets of its business as an EMS contract manufacturer – from rapid prototyping and design engineering services to complete manufacturing solutions, testing, supply chain management and post-production support.
Launched in 2006, Nortech Systems’ FOCUS initiative targets improving employees’ work lives and job environment, and empowers employees to suggest and implement changes to any aspect of the company’s operations. More than 500 FOCUS projects have been launched across Nortech Systems the past five years. At company facilities in the Upper Midwest and Mexico, thirty Nortech employees have achieved green- or black-belt training status. Nortech Systems continues to partner with key customers and strategic vendors in joint FOCUS projects aimed at sharing expertise and realizing mutual benefits.
